Kelowna Nutrition Services

I believe food is meant to nourish our bodies and minds, build community and connection, be enjoyed, savoured, and celebrated. It has the power to harm or heal, and it’s our choice to take responsibility for our health and food choices.

Nutrition Services

The journey towards better health almost always starts with better eating habits and food choices. Dietary changes are recommended for a variety of health goals, but where do you start?

Through symptomatology and lifestyle assessments we uncover system and organ imbalances, and by using live blood analysis

I can gain more insight into underlying deficiencies and imbalances beyond the symptoms.

These assessments provide information to create a more targeted nutrition and lifestyle plan as we get to the root of your health concerns.

Brigitta Beer, RHN

The health of the cells in our body rely on what we eat. I understand how difficult it is to determine what those cells need to perform optimally, and which of the latest diet fads are beneficial or sustainable – if any!

So how can I help you?

I am certified as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, specializing in digestive health.

I have advanced training in live blood analysis, observing the health of the red blood cells and the surrounding medium to provide targeted nutrition recommendations.

I am trained in the cognitive behavioural approach to help women find freedom from problematic eating patterns.

I have special interest in pre-conception, pre-natal, and post natal nutrition for you and your baby’s best start. I believe the end of chronic modern diseases starts with our next generation.

Between my specialized training and my love for people and good food, I’m confident that I can help you on your journey to better health!

Functional Blood Testing

“The blood comes into contact with almost every cell in the body. It carries vital nutrients and oxygen to the cells and carries wastes away from the cells. If we understand why the blood cells are sick, we then understand why other cells in the body are sick, and if we are able to improve the quality of the blood,  we will be able to improve the quality of almost every cell in the body.”

Your First Visit with Brigitta

Looking at your blood cells and the surrounding medium under the microscope can act as a window into your overall health. I will take a small sample of blood from your finger, place this on a microscope slide, and place it under the microscope with the image projected to a screen for you to view alongside me. Overt nutrient status, digestive tract function (absorption and digestion), detox requirement, microorganism overgrowth (bacteria, parasite, fungus, and yeast), free radical damage, and organ imbalances are examples of health status that can be inferred from this type of testing.

This is a 45-minute appointment which includes live and dry blood analysis. I discuss nutrient deficiencies, digestive function, bacteria or yeast overgrowth, toxicity, organ imbalances, pH imbalance and any concerns indicated in the blood. I will give lifestyle and dietary recommendations while you take notes and I offer handouts to take home.

This appointment will require you to be fasted for a minimum of 8 hours. Drinking water is encouraged (I want you hydrated) and plain herbal tea is permitted. Bring a snack if you wish!

This is a 30-minute appointment which includes live and dry blood analysis. Together we review the improvements that have taken place since our last visit and what imbalances and deficiencies may still need attention.

Initial Nutrition Consultation – FASTED

This is a 60-minute appointment where we discuss your health goals, medical history, diet, symptoms, and lifestyle. Prior to this appointment you will complete an in-depth intake form and email back to me, so I can be better prepared with a plan outline. This appointment includes live and dry blood analysis to gain more insight and for both of us to get a visual of your health status before you begin your journey. Based on the intake and assessment forms, our discussion, and the blood analysis, I tell you what my natural health approach is for your concerns and create a nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle protocol including handouts and recipes. My goal is for you to leave with a better understanding of what is going on inside your body and how to implement realistic changes to a healthier you.

Taking Back our Kitchens

Our dietary needs change on different days, in shifting seasons, during various life stages and lifestyle habits. Therefore, our way of eating should be changing and adapting to our bodies as well: to build, to cleanse, to heal, to rest, to maintain. There is no one size fits all.

I’m interested in promoting a traditional foods lifestyle – the way our grandparents, great grandparents, and generations before that, ate. It’s time to take back our kitchens and food sources and create a whole foods movement!
