Shockwave Therapy

This non-invasive treatment uses high powered sound waves to treat muscle and
tendon issues. It does this by breaking down scar tissues, decreasing pain sensitivity, promoting blood vessel growth, and stimulating inflammation in the area which promotes the body’s natural healing process.

What is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave is a non-invasive solution that accelerates the recovery of injured soft tissue, bone, heel and joint pain. There are no side-effects and it is available at a reasonable cost.

Shockwaves are audible high-energy sound waves. They occur in the atmosphere when lightning strikes or an airplane breaks through a sound barrier. In medicine, shockwave therapy has been used since 1980 to disintegrate kidney stones.

The following conditions may benefit from Shockwave Therapy

In most cases, 1 treatment per week, for 5-7 weeks is all that is required to get rid of common issues such as plantar fasciitis, tennis and golfer’s elbow, knee pain/patellar tendonitis, shoulder tendonitis, and muscle trigger points.  The treatments generally take 10-15 minutes to complete, has minimal side effects, and improvements are often noticed within the first day.
